The co-creation.
A community designed to foster the artist within us all. We welcome you to expand your imagination and the beauty of your environment. Providing the building blocks of health, knowledge, inspiration and the tools necessary for your ideas to take shape.
co-operative commerce.
Together, residents will develop & administer projects to generate a healthy ecosystem of economic activity aimed at meeting our basic needs. We will collectively determine how to manage operations and allocate funds. Following the Profit First method, dividends will be shared at the end of each quarter.
continuing education.
We believe it is vital to keep learning in order to maintain holistic wellness and a youthful spirit, which is why we will offer classes on a vast range subjects. This will include the foundation of spiritual science, biodynamic gardening, permaculture design, local culture & language, bio-building techniques, artisanal skills, cooking, nutrition and more. With collaboration at our core, community interest will shape the content of our courses.
shared workspace.
Workshop facilities for your creative projects will include a blown glass shop, bamboo & ceramics studios, along with access to many tools for building. Co-working spaces and meeting areas with internet connection will be provided at the AMARA Residence and village center.
The Gardens.
Residents are encouraged to get involved in growing their favorite edible plants on their own plot, while an experimental co-operative garden at the center of the community will give members the opportunity for hands on learning about interplanting, crop rotation and composting to improve soil, along with pest control, harvesting and preservation techniques.
The HARVEST.
Once our gardens are producing more food than we can eat, we will appoint a community produce manager to sell excess to restaurants and markets, allowing our members to cultivate an income for their bounty. A portion of the profits will contribute towards maintenance of our roads and communal amenities.
The JUNGLE.
We now know balanced integration of the human and the forest is possible following a simple rule of thumb: A minimum of 75% of each hectare is to remain under a canopy of tree cover. This ensures preservation of habitat for the plants & animals that reside here and a sense of spaciousness for us. Win, win.
